Colin is a FA Registered Intermediary, qualified solicitor and former international player. Colin has advised on numerous player transfers and negotiations both within the UK and Europe. His expertise is particularly strong in contractual issues, image rights and personal endorsement deals. With a 17 year playing career behind him which included stints at Manchester United, Preston North End, Rotherham United and Hibernian FC, Colin fully understands the industry from the player perspective, and the importance of making playing years count financially. Colin is also an expert panel member at Sports Resolutions UK and the National Anti-Doping Panel.
Jackie is a FA Registered Intermediary. A former youth team player for both Chelsea and Arsenal, Jackie holds a BA Honours Degree in Sports and Business Management and a UEFA A Coaching Licence. Having previously worked as a coach at Manchester United’s Academy, Jackie played an integral role in the development of several elite players. Jackie brings a depth of business experience and a proven track record in helping some of the best young players in the country make the step up from Academy to first team level.
Laura qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and has worked for several leading UK law firms. Specialising in commercial property transactions, secured lending, commercial / residential developments and portfolio investments. Strong business acumen and experience enables her to efficiently manage the business on a day to day basis. Laura brings a personable and practical approach to her work, so client’s needs are met quickly and efficiently in a friendly style.
Yuri is a FA Registered Intermediary. A qualified solicitor, holding a First Class Honours Degree in Law, Yuri worked for a number of international law firms and sports brand companies before joining MurdockSG. He has particular expertise in sourcing and advising on commercial deals. With a strong sporting and coaching background in Athletics and MMA, Yuri brings a fresh and dynamic approach to player representation.
A former England Youth International and professional player, Marek graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BA (Hons) in Sports Development and Physical Education. He went on to work as qualified teacher before joining Manchester United in 2010 as Education and Welfare Officer. His responsibilities lay mainly with the young professionals including the implementation of the Academy Education programme and the day to day welfare of all young players at the club. Marek also acted as the club Safeguarding officer and player mentor. Marek played a key role in supporting the players and their families in the transition from Academy to 1st team football. Additionally, Marek is a UEFA qualified coach and specialises in the recruitment and management of new talent. He has an extensive network of contacts both within the UK and abroad – an essential asset in his role as a Registered Intermediary.
Stephen joined MurdockSG in 2018. He previously worked both as an independent intermediary and at other sports agencies. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of Ulster and also had a successful career as a Talent Identification Officer for a number of prominent UK Clubs. Stephen has developed a strong network of contacts, and has gained broad experience through involvement in numerous transfers within the UK.
Sveto is a FA Registered Intermediary and lawyer holding a postgraduate degree in Sports Law from the University of Madrid. Multilingual, Sveto is fluent in German, Spanish, English, Czech and Slovak and specialises in player transactions across Europe. He has, for many years, advised players on transfers to the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and the Ekstraklasa to name but a few. In addition, Sveto has been instructed to act as a club intermediary in international negotiations and has also represented professional clubs in arbitrary proceedings before judicial bodies such as FIFA, UEFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Marlon Broomes is a former Premier League footballer with a playing career spanning almost 20 years. He had an exceptional youth career and attended the Football Association’s National School of Excellence at Lilleshall and captained England at various youth levels up to, and including, England U21. His club career started at Blackburn Rovers Football Club where he was part of the Premier League winning squad in the 1994/95 season. Thereafter, Marlon went on to represent a number of clubs including QPR, Stoke City, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End. Following his playing career, Marlon has successfully completed his UEFA B and A licences and has coached and mentored some of the UK’s leading talents. Marlon has first-hand experience gained during his playing and coaching career and is well placed to identify and advise on the potential challenges facing young professionals today.
Tom is a FA qualified coach and has a particular focus on talent identification. Following a brief professional playing career, Tom went on to coach Liverpool and Merseyside Schoolboy teams, enjoying success by winning the English FA Schoolboy trophy as manager. Highly regarded and well-connected, Tom was influential in the progression of a number of his schoolboy players transitioning to academy football, with several members of his squad signing with Category 1 and 2 academies across England. A practical tutor and mentor who has worked alongside Liverpool City Council, Tom has played a significant role across a number of community projects and often uses sport as a vehicle to better the lives of young people.
